If you have never worked with a recruiter before then you may be dubious or have questions about how a recruiter operates? There are many misconceptions in regards to working with a recruiter in the search for your next perfect role, the main one being that we charge you for our service, or take money from your salary, this is NOT true.
The main benefits of using specialist education recruiters is that we take time to understand you and your career goals and have direct contact with many schools and academies across the UK who we can introduce your details to, therefore relieving the stress that comes with searching for a new role in education.
We have built some fantastic relationships with Multi Academy Trusts, Local Authority and Diocesan schools; for many schools we act as their exclusive recruitment partner, undertaking the majority of their recruitment for permanent teachers and leaders. So, whether you are looking for a promotion, change of school or relocation, we are here to help!
Starting the search?
Once we receive your CV and contact details, we will organise a suitable time to talk to you, whereby we usually need around 45 minutes of your time, in order to have a detailed conversation about your current role and reasons for your search.
During the phone call, we will ask you questions about your career goals, main achievements, data and outcomes etc. Following this we will collate our notes and write a detailed pen portrait (profile) about you as a teacher or leader (you will read a copy of this to ensure that information stated is a true reflection of your achievements and character)
Marketing your details
This pen portrait will be used alongside your CV as an introduction to Headteachers and CEO’s, it essentially replaces a cover letter and allows us to highlight who you are and what you can bring to a role in their school.
We will create a marketing plan, so that we have a structured approach in regards to who we contact regarding your details. Your details will only be shared with schools and academies that you give us permission to contact.
Once we have gained interest from a school/s we will have a discussion with you about the role/s available, the school in question and future career opportunities. If you are happy to proceed then we will organise an informal chat/meeting or a formal interview.
Prior to any interview it is important that we complete compliance checks in line with Safer Recruitment Practices in Education, this will involve reference checking and ID & DBS checks.
We will provide you with necessary interview tips and information about the school to ensure that you are well equipped and informed in order to make a great impression.
You should expect to undertake a formal interview process including planned lesson observation, formal interview, student panel etc. For leadership posts this may include a presentation and in-tray exercise amongst other activities.
If successful at interview, we will undertake salary/package negotiations on your behalf and organise offer letters etc.
What happens next?
Once you have accepted the offer of employment, the school/ MAT with begin their compliance and onboarding process. (All offers of employment are subject to professional references and DBS clearance).
We will keep in regular contact with you throughout to ensure that you have had the correct onboarding and you are happy in your new role.
